Across The Street

When we were cleaning out the basement so we could have the rehearsal dinner at the house, we found a box of my old stuff that I hadn't taken with me when I moved. Inside it was my old studio art sketchbook from high school, and there were plenty of blank pages in it that I'm putting to good use finally!

This was in it, too. I'd totally forgotten about it--it was an exercise where we were told to go anywhere in school and draw what we saw. This is the house across the street from my high school's front door (the nice one, not the crack house where people hung out the windows and screamed and the police reported to it like three times a week until they finally just stopped responding to it period and we all realized that we officially went to school in a bad neighborhood.)

Anyway, this house always looked especially nice in the fall and spring. I think I drew this during fall semester, which would make sense. I'm always very happy in the fall.
